Outreach Schedule: We need volunteers to help at our booth for an hour or two on the following dates:
Thursday, July 10, Farmers' Market, 7 a.m.-noon
Saturday, July 19, The Next Big Thing, 10 a.m.- 3 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 7, Farmers' Market, 7 a.m.-noon
If we are successful in these ventures, we may add dates, so check back for more days and times.
Assistant Docent Coordinator - Will assist the docent coordinator with scheduling shop docents
Outreach Suitcase Coordinator - Gets hands-on, "Outreach Suitcases" to area classrooms; finds volunteers to teach from the suitcases, if needed
Museum Docent - Works a 4-hour shift in the Los Alamos Historical Museum, greeting visitors, dispensing historic and community information, and selling items in the Museum Bookshop. Contact Docent Coordinator Irene Powell at 505-662-8923.
Tour Guide - Guides tours of the Historical Museum and/or the Historic District Walking Tour
Archives Docent - A wide variety of jobs, depending on interest and desire. May include registering and cataloging items into the collection, transcribing oral histories, and/or scanning and cataloging photographs
Hospitality Docent - Provides light refreshments and decorations for lectures and museum exhibit openings
