Outreach Programs

Our teachers' guide to Los Alamos history is available here. It includes study questions, ideas, and resources to help teachers meet New Mexico social studies standards. A teachers' guide to The Secret Project Notebook, a fiction book for middle-grade readers, is also available.


It may not always be possible to bring a busload of school children or your entire civic group to the museum. That's OK because, through the Suitcase Outreach Program, we can bring the museum to you.

Now teachers in Los Alamos and the surrounding area may check out suitcases and take them to their classrooms. Please read the Outreach Suitcase Program policy and agreement here.

OR, a visiting docent will bring artifacts, photos, models, lesson plans, and age appropriate games to your classroom or organization. Kits are available representing these eras of Los Alamos history:
